I listen mostly to classical music, and I'm looking for an alternative for Amazon Music, which I find almost anything I want and with a high definition sound, including Dolby Atmos.

I found two potential alternatives, Qobuz (French), and Idagio (from Berlin). Both seem quite good options. I'm tempted to choose Qobuz, because sometimes we listen to other genres at home, but Idagio looks like a paradise to classical music lovers.

A few years ago, I tried to find alternatives before subscribing to Amazon. What a good surprise now, I can even choose!

P. S. Amazon Music cancelled.

Related to my Amazon-avoidance post that is apparently quite resonant with a couple hundred of you ...

Yesterday I wound up ordering vegetable-matter compost through them, from a place one state over that does not ship out of state from its own site. It's a family-owned organic farm business. I wanted to support them directly, but that wasn't an option.

When you can't source something locally (I know, I was appalled), and you can't get it directly from the place that does have it, the evil 'Zon is a last resort.

See also my post yesterday about bozos trying to sell me potting mix when I specifically asked for vegetable-matter compost. These are not the same thing. Don't think I'll fall for it.

Boosting this little article from one of my favorite authors who is not stuck on one ebook platform. This rodent is sad about the monopolistic situation. I would have to fork over my fistful of dollars to Bezos if I want to keep reading some of my other favorite authors, just because they can't or won't publish elsewhere. (Yes, I know the ROI for indie authors on non-#Amazon platforms is minuscule to zero at best, but.)

Indies Who Publish Everywhere · You’re mad at Amazon, but you love your favorite authors. Now what?As an author earning most (though not all) of her royalties through sales on Amazon, I’ve been thinking about the upcoming boycott in March. I’m not advocating for or against the boycott; I’m offer…

February 28 : Global USA Economic Boycott
March 7 to 14 : Amazon Boycott

This is a call from People's Union in USA (newsweek.com/nationwide-econom)

It's mainly for USA citizens, but please, all around the world, you should participate as well. Don't buy anything from the USA or on an USA service/platform (Spotify, Steam, american clothing brands, american food and drinks...) on February 28.

And then a big Amazon boycott from March 7 to 14. Don't buy anything from Amazon on that week. Nothing at all. If you need something that is only available on Amazon, consider delaying your buying to after the boycott.

Spread the word and please participate !
