Awhile back I made a strong #liqueur by soaking about 1.5 cups of frozen #raspberry pieces in a similar amount of cheap #vodka with perhaps 1/2c of granulated cane #sugar, all in a canning jar in my #liquor cabinet.
On this super-hot afternoon I poured two ounces of the lovely red raspberry liqueur into a #highball glass full of #IceCubes and chased it with an ounce or so of #cheap American #whiskey. Topped off the glass with #SparklingWater for an utterly delightful strong #summer #cocktail.
In theory I am sitting down right now to do three hours of necessary gig work but we'll see how that goes as I swap tabs to procrastinate by drinking highballs and shitposting.
I might also explain that this cocktail recipe is an example of what I consider an important life skill: living well while poor as fuck. I don't think I've ever seen raspberry liqueur sold for less than $40 a bottle and that was low-proof and syrupy. Drink cheap booze, sure, but find cheap ways to make it great!
Status update: gig work not quite half done. #Procrastination #toot count: 7. High-energy music playlist (contents: anything that slaps or makes me feel happy) is currently blasting the 1997 E-rotic #EuroPop #EuroHouse #techno #remix of Angel Eyes by #ABBA. Nope, I type too slow, now playing is the #MitchMiller marching-tempo orchestral/band version of The Yellow Rose Of Texas. Intoxication level: buzzed, but not yet too drunk to work.
Onward, with vigor!
Now playing: "She Got Gold Mine, I Got The Shaft" by Jerry Reed.
Final status update, because I am nothing if not all about the data-driven life (spoiler: I am NOT about any of that):
-- 4+ hours sat at the keyboard (roughly an hour over budget)
-- all the gig piecework done, yay
-- approximately 22 toots tooted
-- two strong cocktails drinkened
-- a good time had, by working-hours standards
And now it's time for pizza with my beloved! ~tootles!~
